Kerala School of Mathematics invites applications for postdoctoral fellowships.

Postdoctoral fellows at Kerala School of Mathematics need not be affiliated to individual faculty members and can choose to work independently or collaboratively. Postdoctoral fellows are expected to teach at least one course each year at the MSc level.

The institute postdoctoral fellowships will be offered to selected young researchers who have completed their PhD degree or submitted their PhD dissertation in Mathematics or related areas.

INSPIRE faculty/Post-Doctoral Fellows

INSPIRE faculty, NBHM postdoctoral fellows, N-PDFs and holders of any other post-doctoral fellowship are welcome at Kerala School of Mathematics. You are required to complete the application process by clicking on the link above even if you hold an external fellowship.

Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship

The institute postdoctoral fellowship will be given as below:

  • Submitted PhD thesis and yet to defend: Rs. 45,000/- PM & HRA
  • Defended PhD thesis: Rs. 47,000/- PM & HRA
  • Defended PhD thesis & 1-year PDF experience: Rs. 49,000/- PM & HRA
  • Defended PhD thesis & 2-year PDF experience: Rs. 54,000/- PM & HRA

A contingency grant of Rs. 40,000/- per will be given to every post-doctoral fellow.

Selection Procedure for PDFs

The PDF Committee will oversee the selection of institute postdoctoral fellows on a periodical basis (every three months). Applications are invited on a rolling basis.

The following documents are needed for completing the postdoctoral application in the above link.

  1. Curriculum vitae
  2. A synopsis of the candidate’s PhD thesis with links to published papers, if any.
  3. Research proposal and
  4. Two references.

The committee will shortlist candidate(s) from the applications received till then and invite the shortlisted candidate(s) for a talk at Kerala School of Mathematics. The final selection will be done after the talks. The fellowship will be tenable for a period of one year initially at the end of which the postdoctoral fellow will be required to give a talk on the work done in that year and submit a report. The committee will review the same in order to extend the position by another year.
