Kerala School of Mathematics invites applications for the regular faculty position with the designation Professor in the broad area of Mathematics. The details of the position along with pay levels is as follows:

Professor – Pay Band 37400-67000, Grade Pay 10000 (Level – 14 as per the 7th CPC)

Kerala School of Mathematics (KSoM) – a joint venture between the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India and Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment, Government of Kerala – is a national Institution for fundamental research in Mathematics and related areas. KSoM is an upcoming research institute aiming to establish its foothold in the international mathematical community as a major research institution. The faculty at KSoM conduct high quality research, advise graduate students, teach in the Graduate programs, and participate in outreach programs. All faculty members are expected to teach one course every semester.

The emoluments at KSoM follow central government pay scales.

Candidates are required to have a minimum of fifteen years of research/teaching experience after PhD, out of which a minimum five years as Associate Professor or at an equivalent level in any similar Indian/foreign Institution as decided by the Institute. The age limit for applying for the position of Professor is 55 years.

Selection Procedure

Applicants will be expected to have acquired some reasonable measure of international recognition in their research area. Their research will be evaluated in terms of its creativity and originality. At a suitable stage, following a pre-screening step that identifies strong applications of interest to specific research groups, independent input regarding these will be sought from an international group of referees with specific expertise in the areas of research of short-listed applicants. Such applicants may be asked to visit and spend time in KSoM as part of the application process. During such visits, the applicant will typically be asked to give a seminar and interact with the faculty members at KSoM.
