INSPIRE faculty/Post-Doctoral Fellows

INSPIRE faculty, NBHM post-doctoral fellows, N-PDFs and holders of any other post-doctoral fellowship are welcome at Kerala School of Mathematics. INSPIRE faculty/Post-doctoral fellows at Kerala School of Mathematics need not be affiliated to individual faculty members and can choose to work independently or collaboratively. INSPIRE faculty/post-doctoral fellows are expected to teach at least one course each year at the MSc. level. Those interested are requested to contact the Director or any faculty member at Kerala School of Mathematics directly.

Institute Post-Doctoral Fellowship
The Post-doctoral fellowship will be given as below:
● Submitted PhD thesis and yet to defend: Rs. 45,000/- PM & HRA
● Defended PhD thesis: Rs. 47,000/- PM & HRA
● Defended PhD thesis & 1-year PDF experience: Rs. 49,000/- PM & HRA
● Defended PhD thesis & 2-year PDF experience: Rs. 54,000/- PM & HRA
A contingency grant of Rs. 32,000/- per will be given to every post-doctoral fellow. The selection of the PhD scholars will be done by the Academic Committee of Kerala School of Mathematics.
Selection Procedure for PDFs: The Academic Committee will oversee the selection of institute PDFs periodically (every three months). The institute postdoctoral fellowships will be offered to selected young researchers who have completed their Ph.D. degree or submitted their PhD. dissertation in Mathematics or related areas. Candidates who are about to submit their dissertations for a Ph.D. degree are also eligible to apply. Such candidates should have submitted their thesis at the time of joining the PDF position, if selected. Applications will be invited on a rolling basis.
A candidate is required to apply for the PDF position by writing to the Director of Kerala School of Mathematics by e-mail attaching the following documents: (1) A synopsis of the candidate’s PhD thesis with links to published papers, if any. (2) Research proposal and (3) Curriculum vitae along with two references. The committee will shortlist candidate(s) from the applications received till then and invite the shortlisted candidate(s) for a talk at Kerala School of Mathematics. The final selection will be done after the talks. The fellowship will be tenable for a period of one year initially at the end of which the PDF will be required to give a talk on the work done in that year and submit a report. The committee will review the same in order to extend the position by another year. The same process will be repeated at the end of the second year of the PDF.
