Applications are invited from motivated and aspiring candidates for pursuing a PhD degree at Kerala School of Mathematics. Selected candidates will be working either in the broad area of Complex Analysis or Number Theory.
Minimum second-class or equivalent grade in the qualifying degree. A qualifying degree could be one of the following
- Master’s degree in the Mathematical or Physical Sciences,
- B.E./B.Tech. (or equivalent degree) in an appropriate field of Engineering or Technology.
The candidate should also have passed one of the following entrance tests:
- CSIR-UGC NET for JRF with a rank less than fifty
- Qualified in the Doctoral scholarship conducted by NBHM
Candidates who have passed one of the above exams and who are yet to complete their examinations for the qualifying degree and expecting to complete all the requirements for their degree before July 31, 2021 are eligible to apply. For such candidates, the admission, if offered, will be subject to the completion of the qualifying degree.

The mail should reach the above email address before July 15, 2021. All shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The PhD offer will be based on the performance of the candidate in the interview.
All students admitted to the PhD program will have to complete a credit requirement of 24 credits (typically six courses) in their first year PhD coursework. The coursework will be demanding and will lay the foundation for the PhD scholar in approaching the research problem thereafter.
